Arrival 到达尼泊尔

Christine and I arrived in Kathmandu, Nepal, from Shanghai today to begin our next adventure. In two days, we would join a group of fellow Chinese travelers, mostly from the Phoenix area, for a 14-day trek to Annapurna Base Camp. As usual, we enjoyed the various food offered by the airport lounges along the the way.
As we emerged into the crowded arrival hall, a representative from the tour company organizing our trip somehow spotted us among the sea of people. He welcomed us by placing traditional khada scarves around our necks and taking a photo of us before a driver drove us to our hotel.
The traffic in Kathmandu was chaotic. Cars and motorcycles seemed to be everywhere, weaving around one another with little apparent order. Yet somehow, amid all the confusion, traffic continued to move, slowly but steadily, without any accidents. It was quite an introduction to the city!
After checking into our hotel, we walked a few doors down to a small vegan restaurant. The place was very simple, with only four tables. We ordered four items, and every one of them was delicious—even from the perspective of someone who isn’t vegan. By the end of the meal, we already knew we would be coming back.

今天，我和女儿 Christine 抵达尼泊尔首都加德满都（Kathmandu）。两天后，我们将与一组主要来自凤凰城地区的华人朋友会合，开启为期14天的安纳普尔纳大本营（Annapurna Base Camp，简称 ABC）徒步之旅。
走出机场，迎面而来的是熙熙攘攘的接机人群。令人惊讶的是，负责组织这次行程的旅行社代表竟然在人山人海中一眼认出了我们。他热情地为我们献上传统的哈达，并替我们拍照留念。随后，司机接上我们，前往酒店。
加德满都的交通可谓是一片混乱。街道上汽车和摩托车川流不息，彼此穿插，似乎毫无章法。然而，令人称奇的是，在这样看似无序的交通中，车辆竟然能够缓慢而持续地向前移动，一路上也没有发生任何事故。这算是我们对这座城市的第一印象吧！
办理完酒店入住手续后，我们来到附近一家素食餐厅用餐。餐厅十分简朴，只有四张桌子。我们点了四道菜，没想到每一道都非常美味，即使对于平时并不吃素的我来说，也觉得相当可口。一顿饭下来，我们相信一定会再次光顾此地。
